Garden Egg Chair

This 20th century Space Age chair is one of Peter Ghyczy’s most acclaimed design pieces as he designed and produced the collectable chair in 1968 using only polyurethane. It is the first chair in the world that is made out of polyurethane. The chair features a striking round shape, which resembles an egg shell as Ghyczy wanted to design a functional yet aesthetic garden chair. The lid of the chair opens to provide a cushioned seat upholstered with blue boucle fabric from DEDAR Milano. This garden ‘egg’ char is completely rain resistant when left outside because of its lidded cover. The polyurethane is finished with a lacquered grey in RAL 9003
